Fried/ Grilled Fish
Serves 2
Ingredients: Salmon - 2
Ingredients: Salmon - 2
Turmeric - ½ tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Lemon juice - ½ of a lemon
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp.
Salt to taste (about ¾ tsp)
Paprika - sprinkle on tip of the fish
Curry leaves - 5 to 6 leaves, chopped
Coconut oil - 3 -4 tbsp.
Method:
First wash the fish, pat dry and keep aside. Now in a mixing bowl, add in all the above ingredients and mix it well. Coat the fish on the front and back well with this paste, and sprinkle some paprika all over the fish. Set aside for about half and hr, the more you marinate the better the taste. Once it has rested, heat a pan and add in the coconut oil, once the oil is hot add in the fish and cook till done. Normally it takes about 4 to 5 min on each side. Keep the skin facing down longer so that it gets crispy. Serve hot with Caesar salad/ tuna pasta or both. You can find the recipes here.
Note: If you are making this in the oven, place a silver foil on an oven safe dish, add in the coconut oil and let it heat up so the oil melts, as coconut oil tends to thicken if left in the cold. Place the fish on the tray and cook for about 10 to 12 min skin facing downwards and about 15-20 min skin facing upwards, to crisp the skin (I personally prefer checking the fish every 10 min to make sure it doesn't overcook or burn).
Enjoy!
