Poha /Flat rice


Serves – 1 to 2

Ingredients:

Poha – 1 ½ cup (thick poha)
Onion – ¼ (large) / ½ (small) , chopped
Mustard seeds – ¼ tsp
Green Chili – 1 ( small) / ½ ( big), chopped
Lime- ½
Curry leaves – 5 to 6 leaves
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Peanuts – 2 tbsp (optional)
Oil – 1 ½ tbsp
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves (for garnish)

Method:

Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan , once oil is hot add the mustard seeds and let splutter, now add the chopped onions, green chili , curry leaves and peanuts. Sauté till the onion becomes translucent. Now add the turmeric powder and mix it well. Add the poha into a strainer and run water over it just enough to wet the poha (don’t keep it under water for too long, else it will become soggy ). Now add the poha into the pan after straining and mix it well. Squeeze the lime all over and add salt to taste and mix. Finally, garnish with a few coriander leaf. Serve hot.
