Paneer Makhni


Ingredients:

Paneer -1½ cups, cubed
Cloves - 3-4
Cardamom - 2
Cinnamon stick- 1 inch
Tomato - 2 big
Ginger Garlic paste- ½ tsp
Cashew nuts – ¼ cup
Green Chilli- 1
Chilli powder – ½ tsp (or more depending on your spice level)
Coriander powder - ½ tsp
Garam Masala – ¼ tsp
Water - 1 cup
Kasoori Methi – ¼ tsp
Butter - 1 tbsp
Cream - 1-2 tbsp. (optional) (I have not used cream in this recipe)
Salt to taste

Method:
Blend the tomatoes and cashew to a smooth paste and set aside. In a wok, heat butter and add cloves, cinnamon stick, cardamom, green chilli and saute. Add in the ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes. Now add the puree, cover and cook till the eater evaporate and gravy becomes thick. Next add in the masalas ( chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masla), salt and saute. Once the gravy becomes thick, add 1 cup water . Add in some kasoori methi and the paneer cubes. Turn the stove to low flame, cover and cook for  5 min. Serve hot with chapati or naan.
