Banana Fritters (Pazham Poori)
Serves 2-3
Pazham Poori
Ingredients:
Maida/ All-purpose flour
- 1 ¼ cup
Sugar - 3-5 tbsp. (Depending
on the sweetness of the banana, you may increase or decrease the amount of
sugar)
Turmeric- a pinch
Cumin powder- a pinch
Plantain banana -

Water - 1 cup
Milk -1/4 cup
Oil for frying
Method:
In a mixing bowl, add
the maida, turmeric, sugar, cumin powder, water and milk and mix well till no
lumps form. Make sure the batter is not too thick nor too watery. It needs to
just coat the plantains. Now, cut the plantains in 4 parts and then cut thin
layers vertically. Put these into the batter. Now in deep frying pan, add oil
and let it heat up. Once hot, add in the plantains in batches, depending on how
big or small the pan is, and cook till you get a nice golden color on both
sides. Serve warm.
Note: You can make this as a snack during tea time or have it for breakfast :)
